What it shows

This chart tracks the 30-day change of short-term holder supply. The app subtracts the STH supply of 30 days ago from the latest STH supply. The unit is BTC. A positive bar means that more BTC now sits in coins younger than 155 days. A negative bar means that less BTC sits there. Blue marks a positive change and pink marks a negative one. The BTC price shares the view. A text label names the range of the newest value.

How to read it

Check the sign of the newest bar, then its size in BTC. A blue run means the short-term group kept growing over many 30-day windows. A pink run means it kept shrinking. The app calls a move past 100,000 BTC large, up or down. A shrinking bar may come from fewer moves, or from coins that aged past 155 days. Place this chart beside the LTH supply change chart. If one grows as the other shrinks, age may explain part of it. The result is context, not a forecast.

  1. Read the latest bar: its sign and its size in BTC.
  2. Open the LTH supply change chart and compare both sides.
  3. Compare long blue or pink runs with the BTC price.

What to keep in mind

Each bar is the gap between two totals. It mixes trading with coin aging, so it cannot name the cause of a change. A coin that turns 155 days old drops out of the group without any sale. A move between wallets of one owner can add to the group. The fixed 30-day window hides shorter swings. The app chose the 100,000 BTC cut-offs. Use the chart with other data.

A missing value is not zero. Check the source and time under each data block before you compare numbers.

Questions

How is the 30-day STH supply change calculated?

Subtract the short-term holder supply of 30 days ago from today’s short-term holder supply. The result is in BTC. If the supply 30 days ago is not available for a date, the chart skips that date.

What does a positive STH supply change mean?

It means more BTC sit in coins that moved within the last 155 days than 30 days ago. New demand can cause this. Active trading by older holders can cause it too. The chart cannot tell which cause applies.

How do STH and LTH supply change relate?

Coins move from the short-term group to the long-term group as they age. A rise in one group can come with a fall in the other. Compare the two charts together. The app suggests reading STH change next to LTH change.
